It has been a while, but it is time for an update, both on our WA rides & our upcoming European adventure. From a weekend in the upper great southern exploring Marribank & Lake Dumbleyung, to a longer ride out towards the Goldfields every ride has been an adventure. And to finish the year, we're heading away for an exciting trip to Europe, incorporating three days at EICMA. Hope you enjoy this little preview of what we have been up to.

The last four months has seen us exploring some stunning WA rides. Each trip has been a mix of scenic beauty, back roads, small towns and adventure.
One highlight was a two-night trip that encompassed Katanning, Marribank, and Lake Dumbleyung. The ride was stunning, with rolling hills and fields of canola everywhere as we headed south through a mix of new & regular roads. The landscape was a photo opportunity at every turn.
We enjoyed a lunch stop on the banks of the Blackwood River at Trigwells Bridge before winding further east to visit Marribank, 25 kms out of Katanning. After a night staying in Katanning, we made our way back to Bunbury via Lake Dumbleyung, then worked our way to Williams & back through our old favourite roads to Bunbury. We did encounter a swarm of bees on the Collie-Williams road. Not sure how we didn't get stung at last once as we blasted through them.
We ticked a bucket list ride off at the end of September when we took a long weekend trip to the Helena Aurora Ranges. We took the scenic route, taking in York, winding north through the wheatbelt towns of Wyalkatchem & Mukinbudin to get to Southern Cross. After a night staying at the pub, we set out through Koolyanobbing to camp a night at the base of the ranges.
The ride to the ranges offered stunning views, and we frequently found ourselves stopping to take photos. The road offered a variety of terrains, from loose gravel, a little mud, sand & plenty of corrugations. This made Leigh very happy for the recent upgrade to the passenger foot pegs. A good test for the handling abilities of Atlas & a test for new tyres, fully loaded & 2-up is a different ride when we can both stand to take on the terrain.
Upon arrival, we set up camp, enjoyed lunch & relaxed in the heat of the day. We then took a late afternoon ride up the ridge track to take in the views of the surrounding area. We really enjoyed the night camping & would recommend this area as a must visit, quiet, great camping & another hidden gem of WA.
Both of these rides will be out on the channel once we finish the NZ TwoUp 2025 adventures. We really hope you are enjoying the rides, it was a slightly different tour, with the goal being to get through the Ashburton Lakes area & see some of Banks Peninsula. As you'll see in the next few episodes, we got pretty lucky with the weather in the first 10 days of the ride, but a little rain didn't stop us from enjoying the back roads.
On the travel front, we are really excited to be flying to Europe for EICMA, the largest motorcycle show in the world. This is a must-visit event for motorcycle enthusiasts, showcasing the latest innovations and trends in the industry.
We look forward to soaking in the atmosphere, and discovering new gear and bikes. The three days at EICMA promise to be filled with plenty to take in, and I am looking forward to sharing my experience.
We will also be having a European adventure, exploring a little of Italy along with travel through the Swiss Alps to make the most of our time in a new part of the world. We will be sure to share our EICMA experiences over on the channel as close to real time as we can. In the meantime, there is still plenty to come from the NZ trip & this will continue weekly while we are travelling.
We hope you are enjoying it as much as we enjoy the creative side of putting the footage together. Please let us know if there is anything you want to see while we are at EICMA & we will try to fit it all in for you.
We will leave you with a video of Leigh & a close encounter with a bobtail (blue tongue) lizard. We saw so many of these on our ride through to Katanning, we had to stop & get up close & personal.
