Travel updates!

Hard to believe this time 12 months ago we were flying to NZ for a southern tour & the Burt Munro Challenge. That must mean it is time for our 2025 travel updates.

Feels like a distant memory!

We got in a couple of rides before the end of the year, touring the Bunbury Christmas lights & then a New Years' Eve ride down to Margaret River & Augusta which was the perfect way to see out 2024.

Having kicked the year off with an early camping weekend in Nannup, we are definitely keen for the weather to cool down & get back to more riding. We spent a day letting DMD navigate us from Nannup to Pemberton for lunch to get a feel for the program & track legends. The return trip was via 2 waypoints for historic fire towers in the bush & made for a great day of riding.

The next NZ 2Up tour is now booked for 3 weeks in April, the maps are out & the plans are underway. Camp gear will be on board again as we really enjoyed the option to camp if the weather permits. The route so far will see us head to Dunedin & up the coast to Canterbury & the Banks Peninsula. We would also like to explore the Ashburton Lakes region before looping back towards Central Otago. We welcome any suggestions for places to visit or must-ride tracks as the region is one we are not really familiar with. Adventure Guide NZ is proving a useful resource again, comparing roads on the map to the detail on the website to keep off those main roads. With the GPS upgrade we also need to spend a day changing the mount & set up on the KTM to be ready to tackle the next part of the South Island.

It is awesome to be back on track with travel plans, we should get a couple of weekend rides in through March before we clean & pack for NZ. We are making plans for a longer WA tour in the middle of the year, best season to head north. Plans are also under way for a bigger trip at the end of the year which will be motorbike adjacent. Over on the channel, we are working hard to get the last of our 2024 rides together & ready for sharing, these will be coming soon & we hope you enjoy them as much as we enjoyed riding them.

In the meantime, I need to go back to the maps & get excited about NZ 2Up 2025. See you out there!
