Today sees the last 2024 video released over on the channel, where we joined a group of South West Adventure Riders in Brunswick Junction & headed to the historic Quindanning Pub for lunch. As the dust settles on our NZ TwoUp 2025 tour & we get stuck into editing, hope you enjoy this story. Be sure to head over & watch the video, leave a comment, like & subscribe to get updates on the future episodes as we start into our 2025 ride series with a couple of local rides before NZ TwoUp Season 4 gets under way. Being the last weekend in November there was a chance the day could heat up, but any excuse for a ride so we headed out to meet Rob & other riders from South West Adventure Riders at the service station as arranged.
After a quick riders briefing & volunteering to be sweep rider, we hit the road rolling out along the seal from town & very quickly found ourselves on dirt which set the tone for the rest of the ride. There are some great roads through the scarp to the east of Harvey & we found ourselves on roads we had ridden before along with a few new trails. There had also been some rain early in the week meaning there was a little less dust & some water still lying on the track.
Unfortunately the ride was not completely without incident, after a stop to clear bugs from the helmet (note to self: danger of riding with visor up), we looked up in time to see the bike in front go down after hitting a half-buried rock in the middle of the trail. By the time we stopped the rider was up, we helped get the bike upright & took the time to check everything over. A little damage to the bike but still rideable, however as the rider was nursing a sore wrist this made the 1 km out to a main road more difficult to manage. He made the decision to call it & head out while the rest of the group continued north. The day started to warm up & we were grateful for shade & a cool refreshment when we arrived at the pub.
Thanks to Rob for the great ride, good spot for lunch & new trails added in our backyard.
